Bee Products

bee products

The Project produces pure, undiluted honey harvested from African Bees hives and the product is packaged in containers of various sizes, branded and distributed. The product is branded with the caption: ‘Pure Natural Honey’ and is packaged in 28ml, 375g, 500g and 1kg containers with the anticipation of introducing the 30kg buckets and the 10ml honey sachets. Innovation, forward thinking and customer care remain our principles as we move from Basic to Prosperity. While there are a number of bi-products that can be harvested from a hive, products such as pollen; propolis; royal jelly; bee venom; bees wax and honey, the company at the moment is focusing on producing honey and wax.

Bee Removal Services

Apart from honey production, the entity is also in the operation of Bee removal. All the Bees that are removed are transferred to one of the apiary sites. After removal the company applies a bee repellent chemical so that the bees should not come back to the same place.

When removing bees from the unwanted place, a careful consideration is made that there are no people in the vicinity otherwise the operation of removal is executed during the night when bees are dormant. Removed bees are placed in a beehive and transferred to one of the apiary sites. The company currently has a number of apiary sites depending on the availability of forage.

Horticulture

We have 4 hectors under irrigation. This project is situated alongside Legadigadi River which has plenty of water. There is, however, a borehole within the property which supplies sufficient water for irrigation. Mostly a drip irrigation is utilized. Electricity is being used to pump out water.

Currently the project uses the Royal Bafokeng nation’s tractor and its implements for soil preparation. Though the system is helpful in the absence the businesses’ own implements, it is however quite cumbersome as the arrangement results in delays in preparing the soil in time. This is due to the queue of the local Bafokeng farmers lining up to use the tools.
